July 24 saw thousands of activists take to the streets of Washington with the message ‘We Can End AIDS!’.
The march, which coincided with the International AIDS Conference, converged on the White House to demand major changes to international and domestic HIV policy.
We brought our message ‘don’t stop now, finish the job’ to the march, with our supporters decked out in striking red t-shirts. They were calling on donors and governments to keep the important gains made in responding to HIV and protect the rights of those most affected.
But the fight isn’t over! Are you ready to end AIDS? Then sign the Washington Declaration.
The declaration recognises the fact that we stand at a unique time in the history of the AIDS epidemic. Through new scientific advances and societal, political and human rights gains, it is possible to turn the tide against the AIDS and begin to end the epidemic in our lifetimes.
Last week also saw the launch of Don’t stop now: invest in communities to stop AIDS, a new Alliance discussion paper which you can download here.
